        Summary: You upload geological documents. Those documents are sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) to extract tabular data. We do not sell your data, we do not use it to train models, and we delete uploaded files automatically. Read on for full details.
    

1. Who We Are

LogDog.ai ("we," "us," "our") operates the LogDog.ai platform at logdog.ai, a document processing service for the mining and geological industries. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle information when you use our Platform.

2. What We Collect

Documents you upload: PDFs and images you submit for processing are stored temporarily on our servers to facilitate extraction. These files are not read or reviewed by our staff and are deleted automatically after a short retention period (7 days for free/demo usage, 30 days for paid accounts).

Session identifiers: We assign an anonymous session cookie when you access the Platform. This cookie does not identify you personally — it allows us to associate your results with your browser session. Session cookies expire after 7 days.

Access codes: If you use an access code to unlock credits, we store the code and associated usage metrics (pages processed, date of use). We do not collect your name or email address unless you contact us directly.

Usage data: We collect anonymized usage metrics including pages processed, processing mode selected, and error counts. This data is used to improve the Platform and is not linked to your identity.

Contact form submissions: If you contact us via the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to collect anonymized usage statistics about Platform visitors (pages visited, browser type, approximate geographic region). No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data. You can opt out via your browser's cookie settings.

3. Third-Party AI Processing — Important Disclosure

The core function of LogDog.ai requires transmitting your uploaded documents to third-party AI providers for vision-based analysis and table extraction. By uploading documents and initiating processing, you explicitly consent to this transmission.

The provider used for any given processing job depends on your selected settings. Not all providers are used for every job.

Regarding model training: All three providers' API terms state that data submitted via their APIs is not used to train their models by default. However, we encourage you to review each provider's current policy independently, as these policies may change.

We do not control how third-party providers handle data once it is transmitted to them. We are not responsible for the data practices of OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. If you have concerns about submitting specific documents to these providers, do not upload those documents.

4. How We Use Your Data

Uploaded documents — Used solely for extraction processing. Not reviewed by staff. Deleted automatically.
Extracted results — Stored temporarily to allow you to view, download, and export your results. Deleted automatically after a short retention period.
Session data — Used to associate your results with your browser session during your visit.
Usage metrics — Used in aggregate, anonymized form to monitor Platform performance and improve the service.
Contact information — Used only to respond to your inquiry.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties except as described in this policy (AI providers for processing, analytics providers for aggregate statistics).

5. Data Retention

Uploaded files: Automatically deleted within 7 days for free/demo usage, or 30 days for paid accounts
Extracted results: Retained for up to 7 days (free/demo) or 30 days (paid) to allow export, then deleted
Session cookies: Expire after 7 days
Access code usage logs: Retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention and support purposes
Contact form submissions: Retained for up to 12 months

You may request early deletion of your data by contacting us through the contact form.

6. Sensitive and Proprietary Documents

We understand that geological drill log data is frequently commercially sensitive, proprietary, or subject to confidentiality obligations. Please be aware:

We transmit your documents to third-party AI providers as described above
You are responsible for determining whether your documents are appropriate for third-party AI processing
We strongly advise against uploading documents that are subject to confidentiality agreements, regulatory restrictions, or that constitute material non-public information
We accept no liability for any commercial, legal, or regulatory consequences arising from your decision to upload sensitive documents

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data during transmission and storage, including HTTPS encryption for all connections. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

8. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

Session cookie (logdog_session): Anonymous session identifier. Required for the Platform to function. Expires after 7 days.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): Anonymized usage tracking. You can opt out via your browser settings or a Google Analytics opt-out tool.
Referral cookie (logdog_referral): Stores affiliate/referral codes from URL parameters. Stored in localStorage, not a cookie. Used to attribute referrals.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you
Deletion: Request deletion of your data
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
Objection: Object to certain processing activities

Because we do not collect personal identifiers (name, email) during normal Platform use, we may not be able to identify your specific data. If you used the contact form or purchased credits with an access code, please include that information in any data request.

10. International Users

LogDog.ai is operated from Canada. If you access the Platform from outside Canada, your data may be transferred to and processed in Canada and in the countries where our third-party AI providers operate (primarily the United States). By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please contact us if you wish to exercise these rights.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for professional use and is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
